Swallowed In The Rain by NostalgicChills Swallowed In The Rain by NostalgicChills
"Hearts call, hearts fall.
Swallowed in the rain. Who knows?
Life grows. Hollow and so vain."

('Winter Light' by Linda Ronstadt)

*Yes i know i've used this song as inspiration before, but i couldn't help it, it's too damn perfect for this deviation!*

------------------------------------------------

Simba is not sad or anything, i think he's perhaps lost in thought or is just enjoying some bittersweet solitude.

I love rain! We've had a lot of rainy days here lately, and i swear; if it wasn't too damn cold i would just sit in the rain all day long. I love it! i love the smell, the feel, the sound, it's very inspiring! and so this piece was born.

This is the beginning of a new mini series called 'Simba's Jungle Life' I know i'm doing a lot of mini series at the same time, but oh well, one more couldn't hurt.
Basically it's about Simba's life in exile without having met Timon & Pumbaa, i've cut them out completely. Yeah, the film would be a lot heavier and perhaps too heavy for children without them, but i really think that Timon & Pumbaa clash with the tone of the film way too much. So let's just pretend that they don't exist. I know that T & P saved Simba from dehydration and vultures, but in this alternative universe; Simba eventually regained consciousness, got up, moved on and spent the rest of his childhood and adolescence alone in his jungle paradise.

*Other deviations in this series:

I've been looking for that song for years! I couldn't remember the lyrics, but I do know it's my favorite part of 'The Secret Garden' (I loved that movie!)
Thankyou so much for helping me find it!

Thanks Tracey! And you're so right! TLK 3 was an insult to TLK fans everywhere! if it was a TV movie, i wouldn't mind it so much, but the fact that it actually qualifies as a part of the lion king legacy, as in compares itself to the first one - makes me want to hurt the guy who thought was a good idea!

I'm so glad someone agrees with me, re: TLK 3! ^^; :phew: WHAT A G*D-AWFUL WASTE OF 80+ MINUTES!! :X The guys who produced it were Grade-A morons, that's for sure!! :sarcasticclap:
:stinkeye:

Seriously, Mufasa would roll in his grave; at the very mention of Simba competing in that dumb snail-slurping contest! Besides, the well-heeled Scar would have used such a gross detail to Simba's detriment; during their confrontation, upon Simba's return home... (Scar may have been the quintessential well-mannered society gentleman; but he was also shockingly manipulative, as everyone who's a true fan, knows! Obviously, those guys were new to the TLK franchise. More's the pity... :stupidme:

No wonder it bombed!! :iconurueyerollplz:

Now, to pack us a couple pistols, to whip those guys with!! :evillaugh: Hope you like the flag-shaped bullets, guys! Oh yeah... The flags say, "Make Art, NOT Trash!!"

*:highfive: Ebony* "To sensible TLK-related art, fellow fan!!" :iconsecrethandshakeplz:
