Literal Lion King Series - Surprise

Ok. I'm going to start off by saying that this isn't something that only applies to The Lion King. And it's probably something that you don't notice until someone points it out, but DAMN this pisses me off!
I know that when you're a kid, you root for the main character of the story, you cheer them on when they defeat the evil guys etc. But as you get older; you start to get bored of the good guys winning all the time, so you start rooting for the bad guys for once. But then you notice that...THEY ALWAYS DAWDLE!! They either take too long to attack, they let the good guy distract them for long enough so that they can escape, or the villain wastes several minutes by telling the victim their life story or telling the reason as to why they're trying to kill them. They always give the protagonist a chance to either escape, change the villains's mind or defeat them.

Take Shenzi, Banzai and Ed for example, in the elephant graveyard; wouldn't it have been easier to sneak up on them and attack them by surprise? Apparently not, because instead - they had to come out of hiding, mock them, taunt them and then get distracted long enough so they escape. And then, when they had finally cornered them; they dawdled some more, giving Mufasa enough time to show up and kick their asses! In the animal kingdom, that never happens! hyenas don't introduce themselves to their prey, no. They hunt them down, pursue, attack and kill them!

And like i said this doesn't just apply to TLK. Nearly all kids cartoons and movies do this, with the exception of a few. and if you don't believe me, find a kids cartoon and watch it, see for yourself what happens when a good guy gets trapped by a villain, and you'll see exactly what i'm talking about.
